1 Step 1

Open PST Converter

Start Magic Soft PST Converter from the desktop shortcut or the Start menu. The left panel has three buttons: Browse PST File, Load Analyze and Export. Mailbox folders appear in the middle pane, and messages are listed on the right above the Message Preview pane.

2 Step 2

Choose the PST file

Click Browse PST File and select the PST you want to convert. Its full path appears in the PST File Path box, and the status bar at the bottom tells you to click Load Analyze next.

3 Step 3

Load and analyze the file

Click Load Analyze. The program reads the PST and builds the folder tree. Larger files take longer, so wait for loading to finish before you continue.

4 Step 4

Open a folder

The mailbox appears as a tree with the number of items in each folder, such as Inbox, Sent Items, Calendar, Contacts and any folders you created. Click a folder to list its messages by subject, sender and received date.

5 Step 5

Preview the items

Click a message to read it in the Message Preview pane, with the subject, sender, recipients and attachment names. Use the preview to confirm the mail you need is in the file before you export.

6 Step 6

Click Export

When you are happy with what you see, click Export in the left panel. The Export Data window opens with the source file already filled in.

7 Step 7

Pick a format and destination

Choose the output format from the Format list. Click Browse next to Destination and pick the folder for the converted files, then click Start Export. The progress bar shows how many items have been processed.

8 Step 8

Open the converted files

A message box confirms that the export completed successfully. Click OK, then open the destination folder to find your files.

Do I need Microsoft Outlook installed?
